According to the statistics of Microsoft, not only the windows applications but also some other apps on the store have been downloaded significantly in recent days. From the below shown statistics, out of 30 applications, 19 are from Microsoft corporation. Other than Microsoft’s own applications, Skype, Netflix, Fruit Ninja, Logos Quiz+ are still eking their way in the list of Microsoft app with the better ratting submittals. Logos Quiz+ is developed by the independent developer Bernardo Zamora. This application attracts both ratings submittal and it brings a higher review score as 4.5! All applications except two listed here are supported by ARM.

More than 50000 apps are now available in Microsoft windows store.  A year ago, Windows’ opened a store for business; its growth has slowed this quarter. In order to improve the company’s growth; they have launched a Microsoft 8 app-for-cash promotion last week. The promotion offers $100 to developers for bringing out an app in the app store. This promotion will end on June 30. Developers out there go for it.

According to a report by Metro Store Scanner, the growth of the Windows 8 stores has gradually decreased in recent months. Comparing to Nov 2012, 52% gain was observed in December 2012. In January, the gain has jumped by 10% higher than the previous month. In February, it has gained only 9% and in March it has increased to 12%. However, growth rate of apps in Windows store is slow compared to other platform stores.

Microsoft presently requires amateur and hobbyist developers who are willing to submit any brand new app for windows only. Microsoft clearly looking out ways to improve their app ecosystem ways.  Latest release of windows version of phones looks promising, which inturm would sprang up demand among users for apps and more developers are expected would then foray into the world of window’s app development.
